I did a Hunger Games flyer for the assessment. I picked this assignment because I enjoy making posters or flyers, and I thought it would be really cool to make one to announce the Hunger Games. I had to have a Capitol frame of mind, because the Capitol views the Hunger Games as entertainment, not the way we know it, from Katniss' point of view.

Gale's Diary
We chose to do Gale's diary because we thought it would be interesting to write about how we thought it would be like for Gale. It was fun to see the Hunger Games from a viewers point of view, because this whole time, its been from Katniss's point of view. We chose to do it from a lovesick point of view, because we know from reading the following books that he does like her.

HG Assessment Menu Greasy Sae
I chose to do a second menu, but this time I chose to do one for Greasy Sae's kitchen. She has been mentioned before in the books, mostly for her strange concoctions, so I thought it would be fun to do her menu. I didn't really put alot of items, because living in a poor district, your choices are sort of limited. I added a surprise soup, because to me that shows that what is actually in the soup is a bit dodgy. I did include the "winter special" mentioned in the Hunger Games, because I thought that was a very unique dish. I had fun doing it!

HG Assessment Menu of Capitol
I chose to do a menu for the Capitol. The reason that I chose this was because I thought it was interesting to see what type of food they eat in the Capitol, because we know what kind of food Katniss and all the people in District 12 eat, and I wanted to see how different it was. The Capitol food is somewhat similar to the food that we eat for lunch, dinner or even breakfast, so it was fun to try and think of the types of food they would have, and I also added the food I would like to have on my ideal menu.

Diary of Haymitch
Sara and I chose to do this diary because we both found the character of Haymitch very interesting. I always wanted to know what went on inside his head, how he felt about having to mentor all these kids, and what better way than to create it yourself? The book is such an intense book, that it was really exciting to write from Haymitch's point of view, especially when he is such an important character. I read all I could about Haymitch, to get a better grasp of his character traits. I tried to imagine why he would let himself go to such waste. I really think this diary entry shows how the Hunger Games has been such an emotional blow for Haymitch, and we think it is like this for all of the past victors. What doesn't kill you, only makes you stranger.

Luttrell Psalter
The Luttrell Psalter is a manuscript commissioned by a wealthy landowner in the first half of the 14th century, that describes the life of people during that era. The Luttrell Psalter was not the first to include scenes of contemporary rustic life, but it is exceptional in their number and fascinating detail. The Luttrell Psalter is a primary source, having been written by people living during that time. It is a very unique document, as it not only depicts the lives of the kings and noblemen, but it shows the life of common people as well, something which was quite unusual for psalters of that time.

Learning Profile L
I am a learning profile L. What does that mean? Being a learning profile L, means that I am a gestalt learner, and I do not prefer to follow instructions or do anything in an orderly manner. I like to see the big picture, or the end result, and work from there. For example, if there was a picture of something that I wanted to draw, and there was also an instruction manual, I wouldn't do the instructions, because I find that boring. I learn best when I am moving about, or in other words, I can never sit still. I am always fidgeting with something or the other, and so it may seem as though I am not really listening, but the fact is I just get bored by sitting still. I think a strategy that would help me for learning, is an activity which does not require me to sit still. Something that I can move around or run around while learning at the same time. Something that I think teachers should know about me, is that I get completely stuck under nervousness or pressure. I can't function properly or do what I normally do under a lot of stress. I also get distracted really easily. Whenever someone is talking to me, and if something is happening outside the window or if someone is doing or wearing something interesting, I will always look at what is going on rather than giving my full attention to the speaker. Also, I should sit at the left side of the class so I can see and hear with my dominant ear and eye.
