Learning Profile L

I am a learning profile L. What does that mean? Being a learning profile L, means that I am a gestalt learner, and I do not prefer to follow instructions or do anything in an orderly manner. I like to see the big picture, or the end result, and work from there. For example, if there was a picture of something that I wanted to draw, and there was also an instruction manual, I wouldn't do the instructions, because I find that boring. I learn best when I am moving about, or in other words, I can never sit still. I am always fidgeting with something or the other, and so it may seem as though I am not really listening, but the fact is I just get bored by sitting still. I think a strategy that would help me for learning, is an activity which does not require me to sit still. Something that I can move around or run around while learning at the same time. Something that I think teachers should know about me, is that I get completely stuck under nervousness or pressure. I can't function properly or do what I normally do under a lot of stress. I also get distracted really easily. Whenever someone is talking to me, and if something is happening outside the window or if someone is doing or wearing something interesting, I will always look at what is going on rather than giving my full attention to the speaker. Also, I should sit at the left side of the class so I can see and hear with my dominant ear and eye.

Taking a Stand

Out of all the choices, I honestly have to say that I really don't know. It's hard to imagine what you would do in a situation if you've never actually been in it, but I think that Andre's decision was the right one. I don't think that it seems fair to break someone's shop, or hurt their business because of their race or their religion. It's just as bad as being sexist. I think if a 12 year old boy can make the right decision, then I don't think that it is hard for an adult to be able to make the right one. But I can also see the reasoning behind Melita Maschmann and Dietrich Goldschmidt. Sometimes, it's okay to be scared of standing up, especially if you know your opposition is much stronger than you are. You are not only putting your life in danger, but you can also be putting the ones you love in danger. I know that if I were a mother, my first priority would be my children and family, no doubt. I really feel though, thinking about that, if I had been in that situation, I would have thought about keeping my family safe rather than voicing my concerns.

Analyzing Visual Images and Propaganda

In this picture, the family is healthy and good looking, and the caption underneath reads "Healthy Parents have Healthy Children" The family is placed in the middle of the poster, and it is blown up very large. You can clearly see the wide grins on the faces of all the family members. The color of the poster is black and white, and I think that represents simplicity. It kind of shows that the message that they are trying to get across is really simple. The entire family is good looking, and so it is sort of a propaganda. When the people see this poster, they will think "Oh, I want to look like that family! They are healthy, happy, and good looking." I think the creator is trying to show that this is what they want Germany to be like, so vote for that party or whatever it is, and that will happen. It is telling the public exactly what they want to hear. That poster is attractive and appeals to the audience. I think that the audience is the general public who perhaps are not so happy with their lives, are unhealthy or malnourished, and are wanting a political party or leader that will give them the change necessary to make their lives better. This poster, in my opinion, delivers exactly that message, and if I were someone in Germany who was not in the best of conditions, this is what I would vote for.
Propaganda
Propaganda is when you use the media to make something seem bigger or better, or vice versa. According to Dictionary.com, the definition of propaganda is "Information, ideas, or rumors deliberately spread widely to help or harm a person, group, movement, institution, nation, etc."

I think that the reason that Hitler and the Nazi's used propaganda so much, is because it helped their actual plan seem a lot more likable to the public. They modified their plan to what they told to the audiences as it helped it appeal to everyone. I think they wanted to make sure that they would win by making others seem worse. They were probably worried their plan wouldn't be liked.

Hermann Struts' Political Party

My character is named Hermann Struts. He is a soldier who fought bravely in the war, and he is bitter about the fact that he has not had a promotion in over ten years. He believes that if the Treaty of Versailles had not been signed, then he and Germany would have been better off. I think that he is also a very patriotic person, and thinks that what has been done to Germany is not right. The Nazi party offers everything he wants, so that's why I think he would want to be a Nazi.

Anger and Humiliation and Voices in the Dark

Anger and Humiliation
4. German blood as requirement for German citizenship. No Jew can be a member of the nation.

This is one point which I found to be extremely unfair. I think that this is one point I feel strongly about, because it relates to me. My blood and ethnicity is Indian, but having been born in the US and having lived there for almost my entire life, my passport is American, making me a citizen of the USA. If this rule applied to USA, I wouldn't be a citizen of there. I know that as a person, I am more American than I am Indian, because that is where I grew up and I have adopted that style of thinking. If your not of German blood, yet have been there for your entire life, your way of thinking is going to be German, so in my opinion, you are German. It is also not fair to discriminate because of religion, because even if you are a Jew, you are still German. Religion may play a part in the way you are, but I don't think that it changes who you are very much.

8. No further immigration of non-Germans. Any non-Germans who entered Germany after August 2, 1914, shall leave immediately.

I think that this rule is not fair because I am living in a country outside the one that I am from, and if this rule were enforced in Malaysia, we would have to leave. Many people have jobs outside the countries that they are citizens of, and if this was to happen, they would possibly have to leave their jobs.
I had a question about the Land and Territories for our surplus. I didn't quite understand what that meant. Does it mean to take over more land and get more land?

Voices in the Dark

I think that if I had been on the train, I would have kept quiet. I wouldn't have wanted to cause trouble, especially with more people against me than with me. I have never known anyone that has had that trouble before, but I expect it must be terrible for whoever it has happened to.
